Un joven cubano de 18 a\u00f1os, identificado como Antonio Rassi<\/a>, falleci\u00f3 el pasado lunes 18 de agosto mientras cumpl\u00eda el Servicio Militar Obligatorio (SMO) en la Unidad Militar El Calvario, en La Habana, debido a una \u201cautolesi\u00f3n\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De acuerdo con la noticia confirmada a Cubanet <\/em>por el padre de otro joven recluta que acompa\u00f1aba a Rassi, a los otros soldados se les dijo que el muchacho se dispar\u00f3 quit\u00e1ndose la vida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sin embargo, la p\u00e1gina de Facebook D\u00edaz Canel Sin Gao afirm\u00f3 que Rassi \u201cse dispar\u00f3 accidentalmente\u201d porque \u201cno sab\u00eda c\u00f3mo usar el arma\u201d, ya que \u201cllevaba menos de un mes en la unidad\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La fuente citada por Cubanet se\u00f1al\u00f3 igualmente que la semana antes de su muerte \u201cAntonio no se ba\u00f1aba\u201d. \u201cLe requer\u00edan, pero andaba mal oliente. Era notable que se estaba descomponiendo su salud mental. Nadie observa esto y muchos chicos hace rechazo enorme al Servicio Militar Obligatorio. Y lo peor, le dan un arma sin estar apto ni analizar su situaci\u00f3n psicol\u00f3gica\u201d, indic\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En redes sociales Mercedes Roque, identificada como la madre del fallecido en plena previa del SMO, coment\u00f3: \u201cSoy la madre de Antonio Rassi, quien falleci\u00f3 el 18 de agosto en la unidad del Calvario,… Justicia para mi hijo y para todos los fallecidos en SMO\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De acuerdo con la t\u00eda del joven, Maribel Hern\u00e1ndez, la familia vel\u00f3 su cuerpo en la funeraria de Infanta, conocida como \u201cLa Nacional\u201d, hasta el momento sin conocer la causa de la muerte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En lo que va de 2025 han muerto al menos 15 j\u00f3venes en el SMO, seg\u00fan datos de Cubalex citados por Cubanet. Entre estos casos se cuentan accidentes en el Cuerpo de Prevenci\u00f3n, negligencias m\u00e9dicas, disparos y autolesiones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En tantu, gran parte de la sociedad civil cubana considera que el SMO es un entorno de riesgos y abusos para adolescentes y j\u00f3venes cubanos, muchos de los cuales fallecen durante dicho periodo en circunstancias similares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
